The Working out Loud

PreviousThe Seasonal FestivalNextThe Member Intro Assembly

Last updated 3 years ago

Ideal for creative teams who want to be able to quickly sync with what other members are doing.

Structure

A section in your comms tools where each member can have an open notebook / timeline where they share their thoughts and to-do's.

For those who take random notes it's easy to replace note-taking tools with this 'working out loud' section.

Examples include:

  • A Discord section where every member has their own channel (and members use this channel to take notes about what they're working on).

Suggested When:

Creative teams who are working together to navigate the unknown.

Known Pitfalls:

  • Can be distracting and add to the noise organizations need to sift through if members aren't clear and concise with what they're sharing.

  • Members taking additional time to maintain their working out loud channels (editing & polishing text, etc). Suggested to have members simply replace their existing note-taking process with WOL to openly share their process and not add additional work effort.
